About Our firm

Courtney Westlake Ltd is a firm of independent financial advisers whose primary goal is to help clients realise their financial objectives through a thorough understanding of their needs and aspirations. We aim to provide effective solutions in a consistent, compliant way – using technology wherever possible both as a means of effective delivery of information and ease of administration.

The advisers, John Westlake, Nigel Saunders and Sandy Gilchrist, have between them 48 years of experience in giving independent financial advice and remain deeply committed to the quality of service they provide.

The company was incorporated in 1997 and was an amalgam of two firms of advisers, both controlled by John Westlake. Courtney Westlake Ltd became directly authorised with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in September 2004. The advisers are individually authorised by the FSA and all other members of the firm are qualified by relevant exam or are working towards this objective.

Sandy has been with the firm since 2003 and Nigel joined in 2004. The growth of Courtney Westlake Ltd has been due almost entirely to recommendations from industry professionals or by word-of-mouth introductions from existing clients. While a further one or two advisers may join the firm in the near future, the intention is to continue to offer the same high level of personal client service upon which the firm's success has been built.
